Our campus map shows the location of the STEM Building and many of the locations mentioned below.

Dress Code

BME camp activities take place in laboratory and engineering shop areas.  When working in these areas, students are required to wear long pants and shoes that completely cover the feet –closed toes and heels. Students may bring sweat pants to wear over shorts, if they choose.

Housing and Meals

This is a residential camp and participating by commuting is not possible.  BME campers will be housed in campus housing. In 2024, New and Eickhoff dorms are anticipated to be used.  These dorms provide air conditioned, double-occupancy rooms for our camp.  Actual housing will be subject to availability through Event Services.  Students are segregated by gender.  Three current biomedical engineering students will be camp counselors and will also be housed in the same dorm near the campers for the duration of the camp.  Linens will be provided.

Meals will be in Eickhoff Hall, with the exception of the welcome picnic on Sunday, which will be in the STEM Forum, and dinner on Wednesday evening when pizza will be provided in the STEM Building.  The Atrium at Eickhoff offers a variety of foods including vegetarian options.

Personal computers and WiFi

Personal computers are not required for camp activities.  However, attendees may bring personal laptops/tablets and WiFi connections will be available on campus and in the residence hall.  TCNJ and the BME department are not responsible for lost or stolen personal items.

Check-in

Campers will check-in from 1:00 to 2:30 pm on Sunday.  A BME faculty member and camp counselors will be present.  Detailed directions will be provided by direct communication with campers prior to arrival.

Welcome Picnic

A welcome picnic will be from 3-5 pm on Sunday in the STEM Building Forum.  Campers and their parents are invited to attend. The STEM Building is a short walk from the housing facility.  Cars can be parked in lot 17 behind the Education Building.

Check-out

Camp activities end Friday afternoon at about 3 pm. Campers will check-out of their rooms between 3:00 and 5:00 pm on Friday.  They must return all keys to the on-site faculty member or designated camp counselor.  A parent/guardian should pickup during the check-out period.
